Note to my Former Fellow Recruiters

When I find a candidate today,
a deal gets closed today and…
I get paid today.

Are you tired of discounting your fees?
Fed up with Fee Agreements?
Do you enjoy cold calling?
Doing business with HR departments?
Do your candidates always show up for interviews?
If everything runs smoothly – how many telephone calls from start of process, to collection?
Do you like the 30, 60, and 90 day sales cycles?
And then the 30, 60, and 90 day collection cycles.

When you answered yes to most of the above questions, we should talk. Use your same skill set and eliminate all of the above.

I was an executive recruiter for over 18 years and successfully navigated the above processes, but the numerous points along the way where control got usurped, began to play on my psyche. Orders were changed or canceled and my knowing was not always a priority. Strange as it seems, sometimes my candidates even got offers on their own and didn’t deem it necessary to inform me.

I could go on and on, but I choose to stop now. There were some wonderful times and even some very nice fees, after all, I was involved in the business for 18 years.

About 14 months ago, one of my candidates asked for a personal meeting which I obliged. When I met with her again, she seemed very stress free and happy. She stated that she was no longer looking for a job. I was astonished and taken aback by her revelation. When I asked, why, she said that she found a fabulous opportunity working from home, adding value to other peoples’ lives, and earning very lucrative commissions.

Is that Win, Win, Win?

There was more discussion and I ultimately did my due diligence, liked all that I heard, put my skepticism aside, and took a “leap of faith”. It took me about 90 days to wind down my recruiting business as I was starting up my new business at the same time.

My current time freedom and financial freedom is refreshing. With a very short sales cycles and zero time spent on collections, my lifestyle is by intent, my intent.
